A recent meeting and interview with author Jim White was arranged by www.WindowsReinstall.com after we came across his marvelous book  "Just the Computer Essentials" (Which is basically the book we would have written if we had the time.).

His writing style and back to basics no nonsense guides are just what you need today in this most hectic world. 'Computer Essentials'

On the back cover of Stow resident James A. White's book, "Just the Computer Essentials," a cartoon shows a puzzled figure in front of two book displays: One offers books ''For Dummies''; one rack is ''for brainiacs.'' White says his book is in the middle, and it's a guide to buying a computer, understanding hard drives and memory, viruses and backups.

Just the Computer Essentials - Book Review

"Just the Computer Essentials" is a great book for beginners. James White writes in a very non-geeky way which is easy to understand by people who are not familiarized with computers. Reading this book helps you understand how your computer functions, how to work with Windows Vista, how to keep both your operating system and your data safe. I recommend it to everybody that is not very savvy when it comes to computers and Windows Vista.!

Teke Develops No-Nonsense Computer Guide

James A. White (Iota-Pi Chapter, Kent State University) recently published a book, "Just the Computer Essentials," that helps answer questions the everyday computer user is looking for. There are books for "dummies" and books for geniuses. Jim realized that most users fall in between those and successfully bridged the gap with a straightforward, no-nonsense guide that takes the reader step by step through buying and maintaining a PC running the Windows Vista operating system.

Book: Are Friends And Family Bugging You About Vista?

In that case, send them to Amazon and tell them to buy this book. It is called Just The Computer Essentials, and steps a newbie through all they need to fix their own problems instead of asking you. I was sent a review copy and read through it. It's a nice, step-by-step approach and explains things in easy to understand language. I would recommend it to any new Vista user. And it was written by one of our own WServerNews subscribers!
